I really didn’t know what to expect from the class. All I knew was that I have always wanted to go the Barn (I’ve heard endless good things about it) and I was on a mission to refill the creative well. I’ve made a conscious effort this year to pull back some so I can figure out the direction I wanted some things to head in. Taking the week to study with Dorothy was the trigger to throw everything into line and now Art Brain is firmly back in the driver’s seat.
There wasn’t a single thing about the class (Dorothy is an exceptionally inspirational spirit) and the Barn (they even fed us lunch and dinner, I didn’t have to think about anything but art) that I didn’t like. (Except maybe the carpenter bee that decided that I was his new best friend.) I came out the other side of the class with a new love for books and my mind is spinning with new artwork integrating my fabric and stitching obsession into book form.
I’m in the home stretch of finishing up the manuscript for my second book so I have to wait a few weeks before I can work on the new art projects I have planned but I’m filled with absolute contentment that my creative spirit got some serious care.
Here are some photos that sum up the class and how much I loved it.
