It’s no secret that I was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2018 and that I am in remission. (Yay!) I received so much love and support from my family and friends and it showed me just how much little things mean and how much it helps nurture your spirits. And this year cemented the necessity art plays in my life. Not only because of the community I am privileged to be a part of but because of how centered it makes me feel.
The Lotus Project is my way of paying forward all the love that I received. It is for all those who are ill. In the body, the mind, the heart. And their caregivers. Since illness rarely effects only the patient, my hope is that this project will offer relief to anyone who needs a little bit of respite.
So what is the project about? It’s simple. I’m going to do a series of blog posts under The Lotus Project category that are meant to offer distraction and comfort – two things that I valued highly while I was ill. I want to offer that here. I will also add a page to the website collecting all the links so that each one can be found easily.
The reason I named it The Lotus Project is because the lotus represents resilience and strength. It is rooted in mud yet still blooms beautifully. So the project is named after beauty, strength and art. A lovely trio, don’t you think?
On this page you can find links to all of the blog posts. *Please note – some posts contain giveaways. Their end date is listed in the post index below so you can tell if they are still active or not.*
